The Democracy Pavilion and Independence Gate

Become a part of history as you look back on it!

The Democracy Pavilion is a special initiative of the Israel Democracy Institute. It aims at strengthening the Israeli public's identity by instilling the core values the Israeli Declaration of Independence represents.

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence, Tel Aviv, Israel’s first independent Hebrew city, established the Democracy Pavilion. This pavilion is a large geodesic dome that showcases a full 360-degree experience conveying the values of Israel’s Declaration of Independence. Visitors are given the opportunity to sign their names on the Declaration, reaffirming their commitment to its values.

The Democracy Pavilion is located on 1 Rothschild Plaza in Tel Aviv and is open free of charge to the public 7-days a week starting on Israel’s Independence Day, May 18th, 2018. The pavilion was created by the generous contribution of the Israel Democracy Institute, the Tel Aviv municipality and the support of the Taube Foundation.
